If I had to describe my day in one word it would be “series”. Today I finally decided to start watching “Unorthodox” on Netflix and I was so curious after the first episode that I just binge-watched the full series (it only has 4 episodes of less than 1 hour each). And after that, I also watched “Making Unorthodox” – that is exactly as the title says, a video explaining how did they make the series (also available on Netflix).
I wanna advise watching the series but I also don’t wanna be a spoiler, so I will just say that you should watch it if: (1) you enjoy learning about different cultures and questioning your own; (2) you feel that you don’t fit in your community and you wanna find your own path in life. Even if you fit perfectly in your community, this series makes you reflect on your own world. The things that are “normal” for you but might not be for somebody coming from a completely different cultural background.
Anyway… let’s go back to the real world now! Let’s talk about lockdown! Yesterday it was announced that the quarantine in Italy will last at least until 3rd May. Yet, some business will be allowed to open before that. This was not a surprise to me, but just a confirmation that I am likely to stay in quarantine for the rest of my Erasmus (as I am going back home in May). Maybe… just maybe… it will be possible having 1 Spritz before going back. But for now, I prefer to imagine the worse scenario possible, so I don’t get disappointed in the end.
So, because I still have a long way to go here alone, I am now looking for good comedies (movies/series), so I can lift my spirit. In case you have any suggestion, just comment. 🙂 I believe it will be useful not only for me but also for other people in the same situation – doing a quarantine alone in a foreign country. I have been getting some messages from people telling me it was nice finding another Erasmus living the same situation. To all of those: just be strong and don’t forget you are not alone as long as you have internet! 🙂
Take care <3
